Daniel Pearlson, Chief Executive & Chairman

Daniel Pearlson has more than 25 years executive management expertise in technical manufacturing and service operations, research and development, highly integrated automation technologies, and mass merchandising. His executive management experience includes both private and public companies. 


Mr. Pearlson is the founder, President and CEO of several successful enterprises. Most recently, his company Votan Research Corp developed advanced technologies for law enforcement and military applications licensed to the Raytheon Company. He has developed hardened high-power solid-state servers for applications aboard military aircraft and other vehicles; produced national security infrastructures in South Africa; and developed nuclear energy security systems in the United States, and in Asia under the auspices of the US Defense Trade Directorate. He served as the Chief Technology Officer for remote data telemetry in support of the US Department of Homeland Security’s highly successful Operation Golden Phoenix 2010 (OGP) exercise in Los Angeles; which simulated the detonation of a nuclear weapon in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. The project involved virtually every public safety government entity in the region and every branch of the Department of Defense, the US Coast Guard, the FBI, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Laurence Livermore National Laboratory, and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. 


Mr. Pearlson also founded Sequent Technologies, Inc. and took the company public on the NASDAQ in 2003 where he developed the first cellular live video streaming systems, vast scale visual information systems, and was selected as the sole source developer of a US Air Force Video Telemetry System. 


He served as the Vice President of Research and Development and acting Chief Technology Officer of Youbet.com (NASDAQ:UBET) where he developed live video services and contributed to building the world's highest traffic live IP unicast video subscription service; and served as the Executive Director of the Advanced Research Institute in Los Angeles where he invented and developed the first live television-quality Internet video streaming systems for distance education. 


His company, Krell Telecom & Technologies, was a leader in the video teleconferencing industry and a Strategic Partner of AT&T as well as a Joint Marketing Partner of Teleport Communications Group in Los Angeles. 


He’s served as a consultant to NASA Dryden Flight Research Center; to the City of Los Angeles Department of Telecommunications; the County of Los Angeles Department of Workplace Programs; and as the Advanced Technology Team Leader for TeleLearning to the Department of Continuing Education of the California State University at Los Angeles. 


Mr. Pearlson was the keynote speaker for the annual conference of the Society of Business, Industry, and Economics in 2016; is a 1997 recipient of an honorary doctorate from West Coast University in recognition of his body or work including his ground-breaking invention and development of television-quality live Internet video streaming systems and other technologies that have transformed national Internet infrastructure; and is a recipient of the US Jaycees’ Outstanding Young Man of America award in recognition of his marketing expertise in brand management and mass-marketing of consumer products.

Michael Blank, Chief Operating Officer

Michael Blank brings an exceptionally broad field of expertise to Ranger Scientific. He has more than 10 years’ management experience in firearms retail sales and manufacturing, and in corporate finance. He is a former Board Member of the Small Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer’s Institute (SAAMI); has served in the management and in the evaluation of distressed firearms and munitions manufacturers including Colt Defense; Manroy USA; Sabre Defense, at the request of the ATF; and Dakota Arms which he reviewed and assessed at the request of the State of South Dakota. As principal executive of the A-Square Company & Sharps Rifle Company, Mr. Blank oversaw the manufacture of all ammunition. Under his guidance, A-Square became one of the leading suppliers of proof ammunition, and the exclusive supplier of proof ammunition to the Browning Division of FN Herstal for Winchester & Browning historic firearms. 


Mr. Blank also has a strong financial background having held FINRA Series 3, 4, 7, 24, 27, 53, 55, 63, 65 licenses as well as a Series 86 equivalent from holding a CMT Level 2 designation. 


Mr. Blank's background enabled him to anticipate the then pending bankruptcy of Colt Defense before other analysts. He has also been retained to resolve troubled industry debtors such as US Repeating Arms, Sabre Defense, and Manroy USA.


He is also an inventor and practical engineer. Among more than 20 product designs and advancements, he developed two revolutionary designs of Rifle Lugs (the first major advance in over a century); a high-speed rifle barrel production line that produces ID surface finish in the single digit micro-inch range; a Parabolic Rifling design; and a thrust-vectoring technology applied to cartridge throat design. He developed several small arms ammunitions including the Sharps 25-45 (standardized by SAAMI in 2011); Sharps 50-70; 375 KO; an M4 platform suppressed round (8x38mm); and an M4 platform tactical performance round. 


Mr. Blank received his Masters of Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from Webster University. He is a member of the National Riflery Association; Safari Club International; the National Shooting Sports Foundation; and is a member of MENSA.

Mark Ryan, Executive Vice President & Director of Business Development

Mark Ryan is a talented communicator and businessman with more than 20 years executive management experience. He contributes to the development of business opportunities and strategic relationships to enhance Ranger’s market position and supply chain stability, and advances our domestic consumer, military, law enforcement, and international market objectives. He has a diversified management background including business consulting, business development, and investor relations. He reports to the Chief Executive Officer.


Prior to Ranger, Mr. Ryan formulated and served as President of the Clearview Mortgage Group a small national mortgage bank headquartered in Fort Worth and regulated by the Federal Reserve in Dallas.  Clearview originated, processed, closed, funded, managed, and packaged a variety of Fannie-Mae, Freddie-Mac, FHA and VA loan products. 


Prior to Clearview, Mr. Ryan served as the Director of Business Development with a private oil and gas exploration and production company in Fort Worth. He was responsible for drilling projects in the Permian Basin, Eagle ford, and the Barnett Shale region.


Mr. Ryan’s entrepreneurial experience began almost immediately after graduation from college when he started a small furniture and bedding company in St. Louis. This profitable venture eventually expanded to Chicago. 


In addition to his commercial interests, Mr. Ryan is the Director of the Heroes for Freedom and Liberty, dedicated to supporting various public service foundations by honoring heroes, both military and civilian, who go above and beyond the call of duty for their country. Mr Ryan is also a Strategic Advising Member of the Project Bluelight Foundation which, in collaboration with the US Department of Homeland Security, combats human trafficking and international terrorism. He also serves as a Board Member of the non-profit Wheelchairs for Warriors. 


Mr. Ryan has extensive cross-cultural experience, having lived in Japan as a student, and is extensively traveled internationally. He is fluent in the Japanese language. He received his B.A.s in the Japanese Language and Political Science in 1995 from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
